Velkess was founded in 2007 to develop a technology platform that is capable of providing the world with the energy storage resources required to run a modern economy on Clean Energy. Recognizing that none of the available energy storage technologies were capable of economically providing such functionality, Velkess embarked on a wide ranging effort to find and develop alternative approaches to energy storage that were able to provide such a foundation.

After two years of intensive research and development, Velkess has demonstrated a successful prototype of its novel energy storage technology that is capable of storing and regenerating electrical energy safely, efficeintly, and at a small fraction of the cost of the best currently available commercial technologies. Velkess's prototype confirms both the functionality of the system, as well as all of the physics and engineering models that show its potential to economically and efficently scale to enormous size and capacity.

Velkess is currently working to develop larger prototypes that demonstrate its technology in actual large scale grid connected applications.
